  • Workshop on Proposed Utility Rate Changes Postponed: The joint informational workshop originally scheduled for July 17, 2025, regarding proposed water and wastewater rate changes has been postponed. A new date will be announced soon. This meeting, hosted by CRRUA, the City of Sunland Park, and Doña Ana County, is intended to provide public insight into the cost of service study conducted by Jacobs Engineering. Currently, there is no immediate estimate on the duration of the water service interruption. Once service is restored, water could appear discolored. CRRUA recommends waiting to wash laundry until the water becomes clear. The discoloration should disappear within hours. If it does not, CRRUA recommends flushing faucets for five minutes.   • Update #2: Water pressure has been restored. The returning pressure could disturb naturally occurring sediments in the water distribution system, resulting in the potential for discoloration.   • Happening Now: Some customers in the CRRUA service area have reported low water pressure resulting from overnight storms. CRRUA is aware of the situation and is actively working to restore pressure. In the meantime, CRRUA is asking customers to temporarily conserve water. Customers who use automatic timers for outdoor watering are asked to disengage them until water pressure returns to normal.  CRRUA will post updates on its website and  Facebook page.   • The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) will conduct fire hydrant maintenance and flushing from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. March 28-29, 2025, in the Santa Teresa, NM area to ensure hydrants operate properly. Adjacent areas also may be affected. Water service will not be interrupted; however, water discoloration could occur as a result of the actions.   • Residents in the Santa Teresa Country Club area are advised that efforts to suppress a structure fire on Magic Shadow Loop near Feather Moon Drive could temporarily result in discolored water as a high volume of water moving through the water lines can disturb naturally occurring mineral deposits in the system. Although the water is safe to consume, CRRUA recommends waiting until the water clears to do laundry. To help clear the lines of discolored water, residents can flush their water lines by running outdoor fausetts for approximately ten minutes. If the water discoloration continues after the fire is out, residents should report the issue to the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority, CRRUA by calling (575) 332-1076.
