Why were the rates adjusted?

“The new rate structure is essential for us to accurately recover the costs associated with delivering high-quality water services to homes and businesses and ensuring that rates are aligned with the resources required to keep the water utility system running at optimal performance now and in the future.” Juan Crosby, CRRUA Executive Director.

“It is also required by the New Mexico Finance Authority (NMFA) as a condition for CRRUA to remain eligible for future infrastructure grants and financial assistance,” Crosby said.

WATER SERVICE IRESTORED: RIVERSIDE SUBDIVISION

CRRUA has restored water service to the Riverside subdivision.

Residents may experience temporary discoloration or air in the water lines. Running cold water for several minutes is recommended until the water clears.

WATER SERVICE INTERRUPTION: RIVERSIDE SUBDIVISION

Water service in the Riverside subdivision is currently shut off.

The affected area includes Riverside Dr, Birch Dr, Aspen Dr, and surrounding streets within the Riverside subdivision.

Due to weather conditions, CRRUA offices will open on a two-hour delay on 01/26/2025.

Offices will open at 10:00 a.m.

Customers may continue to make payments online during this time. We appreciate your understanding as staff and crews operate under modified conditions.

Temporary Water Interruption: Anapra Subdivision

Update: Water Service Shut Down & Street Closure in Anapra Subdivision

CRRUA crews have located the source of the water leak in the Anapra subdivision and are actively working to complete repairs. Water service is currently shut down while crews address the issue.

As part of the repair work, Calle Obregon is temporarily closed between Calle Morroco and Calle Carousel. Residents and motorists are asked to avoid the area and plan alternate routes while work is underway.

Water Service Restored: Riverside Subdivision

UPDATE: Water service has been restored in the Riverside subdivision following an earlier service interruption.

Residents may notice discolored water as the system stabilizes. This is temporary. Residents are advised to run their water for several minutes until it clears.

The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) passed its monthly operational control arsenic tests for January 2026, as verified by an independent laboratory. CRRUA provides water and wastewater services to Sunland Park and Santa Teresa, NM.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Maximum Contaminate Level (MCL) for arsenic is 10 parts per billion (ppb).

UPDATE – Water Service Restored

Water service has been fully restored in the Anapra subdivision. Emergency repairs have been completed, and service is operating normally.
