According to tests results from an independent laboratory certified by the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED), arsenic was Not-Detected (ND) in the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority’s (CRRUA) monthly operational control tests for November 2025.

Not-Detected means that while arsenic was present, the concentration in the samples tested was too low to reliably measure based on the analytical procedure used.

Results released by Eurofins Environment Testing, an NMED certified lab, show Not-Detected in water samples taken Nov. 3, 2025, at the Sunland Park, Santa Teresa Community and Santa Teresa Industrial Arsenic Treatment Facilities (ATF). CRRUA excluded the Border Entry ATF from its monthly operational control testing due to its continued meeting of all NMED requirements. 

“Our dedicated team works diligently to ensure that the water system operates within federal and state regulatory standards,” said CRRUA Executive Director Juan Crosby. “That involves optimizing processes, recruiting highly qualified personnel and providing them with ongoing training, performing preventative maintenance, planning ahead and incorporating best practices. For customers, improved performance helps reinforce confidence in the quality of our water.”

As of January 2025, all four Arsenic Treatment Facilities (ATFs) operated by CRRUA are NMED compliant based on the department’s Running Annual Average (RAA).
