The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) today conducted a routine sanitary survey of the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) as part of its ongoing oversight of public drinking water systems throughout the state.

Sanitary surveys are comprehensive on-site evaluations that assess a water system's ability to provide reliable service and drinking water that meets government standards by reviewing infrastructure, operations, maintenance practices, management, and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. They are conducted every three years.

"These inspections are an important part of ensuring our system continues to meet regulatory requirements and identifying opportunities to strengthen our operations," said CRRUA Executive Director Juan Crosby.

Once the sanitary survey is completed, NMED will provide CRRUA with a report documenting the survey results, including any recommendations or required corrective actions, if applicable.
